Hotel Yasmin

New York

Was traveling on my own through Europe for two weeks in March 06 and booked this hotel online. Got a great rate, since they just opened. I almost didn't take it, because it was so new and I was afraid they would still be working out the kinks. But I checked out Trip Advisor and saw two glowing reviews, so I tried it. And I'm so happy I did!

Room was large, very cool and spotless. The bathroom was huge by European standards, too. Staff was very friendly, completely bilingual in English, and helpful. Hotel is just a block from St Wenceslaus Square and an easy walk to Old Town Square.

The free breakfast was one of the best I've ever had at a hotel. I also ate dinner there one night and had a great meal for a very reasonable price.

Go there before the prices get too high!

London

We stayed here for a long weekend in April and found it a perfect place to stay - central enough to walk everywhere but hidden from the noise of the bars and cafes. The reception is very friendly and speak English perfectly, and the breakfasts are amazing.

It's also a stunning-looking place, with a clean modern funky look - though the minimalist sleekness was done rather overboard in our room. For example, visitors should remember to bring their own alarm clock, as the room clock is built into the TV set and only comes on when the TV is on.

Also, bring your own soap ... they only supply a glamorous-looking body wash which of course doesn't actually work.

Only real issue was the twin room had tiny tiny single beds and they are right next to one another, so there really isn't much space or privacy.

Poland

I've just came back from Prague, where I've stayed in newly opened Yasmin hotel. It was really dissapointing!!! I stayed in Junior Suite (240 Euros per Night) which in most design hotels would not be considered as Suite at all because of the size and design of the room. The thing with Yasmin hotel is that at first sight everything looks great. Especially lobby and bar-restaurant interior are very impressive and cutting edge. Also the whole leafy design is very modern. But as soon as you get to the room you can see that something is wrong - good looking but cheap furnitures. And bathroom is a real disaster! Crap and cheap fittings and I had to wait 10 minutes for hot water in the shower. The other thing is that thanks to doors connecting my suite with two rooms next doors I could hear all the noises which my neighbours were making. Apart from this bar was closed quite early (before 12 o'clock) and for breakfast I only manage to have an awful coffee (all the food and drinks were removed and cleared up exactely at 10.30. I know it was my fault - I was there at 10 minutes before - but in most of the hotels, breakfast is not removed straight away!). The only nice thing was that hotel was very clean and fresh and the stuff was great - very professional and kind. maybe I was extremely unlucky or maybe I expected too much. Anyway I will tell all my friends not to bother. Not for this money. There are much better design hotels in Prague.

Chicago, Illinois

We stayed at the new Yasmin hotel in Prague for 3 days the last week of April 2006 and were very pleased with this hotel. Found great prices on various sites on internet that included breakfast. Location is convienent to metro and the train station to other parts of Europe. We flew into Prague and took the bus to the metro to the Mustek stop which was an easy walk to the hotel. Prague is an easy city to walk and this hotel is located within walking distance to the tourist sites and restaurants. Rooms are nicely appointed and modern (non-smoking floors available, flat screen tvs, 3 english channels, internet $10/day). Breakfast was truely wonderful with fruit, pasteries, cheese, eggs, potatoes, cereals, etc. Hotel staff was very nice and helpful. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for a 4 star+ hotel.

Wigan

i visited the hotel yasmin with my boyfriend mid april and i am surprised to see somebody complaining about it. i booked it as a 21st birthday present for my partner and it was cheap at £235 for 3nights bed and breakfast. well i thought that was cheap considering it was a 4/5 star hotel on websites. the design of the hotel is amazing, it is extremely clean, and the staff were so helpful and spoke excellent english. the rooms were complete with mini-bar, flat screen tv, lovely fluffy towels and slippers! the bathroom had sleek black tiles and mirrors all around. i just cant even begin to describe the lobby and restaurant area as it was just out of this world, well to us it was anyway. breakfast did finish at 10.30 but if you get down there ar 9.45ish there is still plenty of food, everything you could want for your breakfast. it might say continental on some websites but there is bacon, egg, sausages and hash browns. i think thats a little more than continental. the only thing i could fault about this hotel is i had to really pick, was that we couldnt really work out the heating/air conditioning. but even that didnt really bother us. i would certainly visit Prague again and this hotel. even in the hotel, the drinks were realtively cheap which you dont usually find.
if you need transport from the hotel, dont hesitate to use the airport taxi firm, it is all good and is not expensive at all. it cost us £15 to our hotel. when going home, we used the hotels taxis and that cost about £23. there is just so much to see and do, just make sure you take a guide book. i forgot mine and so we were looking at things and not knowing what they were for! there isnt many shops that sell tour books.
the final thing i would say is, if your cosidering this hotel, go for it. i went about a month after it had just open and i was expecting unfinished rooms etc. but there was none of that, it was perfect for us.
