Hotel Slavia

Cookstown N.I.

me and my fiancee have just returned from 4 days in prague and we stayed in hotel slavia. when we arrived we were quickly shown to our room which was situated very close to reception/bar and restaurant (which was handy.) rooms were basic but tidy and had fresh towels everyday. breakfast was very nice but a bit repetitive towards the end of our stay! overall a nice clean very affordable hotel!!!!

Cwmbran, United Kingdom

For a hotel on a budget this was excellent. There was only one gripe and that was that the room was cold - the radiators only got warm not hot. But then it was minus 5 in the day.......... no idea how cold it got in the night.
The room was lovely and clean, the hotel staff very helpful and friendly and the breakfast very tasty.

It was situated in an excellent residential area, with a tram stop practically on the doorstep. Very punctual and clean transport throughout the city.
A really good hotel for those on a budget who aren\'t scared to travel on city transport.
Only about 10 mins from City Centre

Cheshire

Stayed with 10 of the girls for my 40th. Was really worried as had read the reviews but was overjoyed when we got there. We arrived early so asked the receptionist if we could leave our bags and check in later but within 10 minutes she had all our rooms ready. She was extremely helpful with tram times/eating places/booking taxis etc. We stayed on the top floor which looked like it had been recently refurbished and there was also evidence that some work was being done on the hotel. Room FAB!!! Clean, safes, fridge, hairdryer - what more could we ask for. Breakfast staff and chambermaids really friendly too. Breakfast was a continental which was included in price. Bar area very basic but satisfactory for what we needed. Right on a tram line into the city. Bedrooms on ground floor looked very basic and am sure they are probably last to be upgraded but we could not fault this hotel in any way whatsoever. Looking at some of the other reviews on this hotel it does make me wonder if they had been staying in the same place!!!!!

I was a bit concerned about the negative reviews but the Slavia turned out to be fine for the money. The hotel was clean, clean room and bedding and fresh towls every morning. The staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is out in the suburbs so it\'s well worth getting the 3 day public transport pass that allows travel on the trams, busses and undeground within Prague.

All in all, if you are travelling on a budget then the Slavia is ok.

when i arrived at the hotel slavia they were very unfriendly really proceeded to remove my passport from my personand check it, lol, when we got up to the room i was fairly satisfid, however at 6\'4\'\' i found the bed covers and the bed itself rather inadequate and had to sleep rather uncomfortably in a hunched up ball. in the morning i got the pleasure of using the bathroom, it was essentially ok i guess apart from i had to set myslf up with shampoo ready squirted in my hand ready to lather in a frenzy racing against the clock as i had around 20 secs before the shower started flooding the bathroom, when i escaped this ordeal i was greeted by atowel which i mistook for a piece of sand paper, it was actually painful, i opted for the drip dry option most days. they have tvs in the rooms, not that i used ours at al i dont think. i room was cleaned once in the 4 days we were there, and also the beer tasted terribly weak, although i think they may have done this especially for our group of lads. the bar is 24 hr.? no its not, came in a couple of times and they wouldnt serve. the pool table is shocking! and at around 2 quid a game an absolute ripoff. the only gd point about this hotel is that u can do pretty much anything you like, which worked for us being a party holiday, and i think this is a big factor to consider if you too are planning a stag do etc. the transport into town is pretty good at around 15 mins on the tram and its cheap, although the area that slavia is situated in looks like its straight from the post war communist era with no redeveopement and concrete tower blocks. all in all id have to give this hotel a thumbs down. sorry guys. :(
