Lancs We stayed in prague for 3 days in january, and we were a little apprehensive about going as we did not book the hotel and read bad reviews,we would have normally booked somewhere where we knew had better reviews.
However, although the hotel and rooms were very basic they were clean which was was what i was most worried about. The rooms were not very sound proof, and the food was not very nice but we didnt eat in the hotel anyway, as we spent all our time out and about around prague, and is is not unreasonable to eat out in prague.
The location was ok, as there was lots of reliable public transport right outside the hotel, but if we had booked and when we go again we will stay around the old town in prague as it is a gorgeous area and the location around the slavia was not.
The hotel was sufficient for how little we used it, and another review said the staff were unfriendly but we found them no different to any other staff in restaurants and bars in prague. This hotel is very cheap, and you can\'t expect a 5* hotel for that price, you get what you pay for and the slavia is fine if you are on a budget.

London Stayed in Slavia for a week. The hotel was a disappointment. First of all, the hotel staff was unfriendly apart from one reception girl on the last day of our stay. The room was very basic and cheap. The furniture was awful: the chairs were stained and unpleasant and the build-in wardrobes were old and made horrible squeaky noise every time you open them. The rooms were not soundproofed and you could hear everything in the rooms next to you. Unfortunately for us, one of the rooms was an office for cleaning staff and the noise there will start at 5 am with the door slamming and people talking. The breakfast was very basic. To be fair, the bedding was clean and the towels were changed daily. Overall, we found this hotel very basic, noisy and we will not stay there again. If you want to be looked after during you stay in Prague and enjoy it this hotel is definitely the wrong choice.

Devon Have just returned from a short break, spending three nights at Hotel Slavia. Room was basic but clean, very handy for the city centre with trams running very regularly. Towels were changed daily, bed was clean as was the bathroom. For what we paid a very enjoyable stay.

Brighton, East Sussex I recently stayed at the Slavia for a Stag do with 11 mates, a few of them having read the reviews, who were apprehensive at best!
However upon arrival we were greated and checked in at a speed better than some 4* hotels I\'ve stayed at.
Fearing the worst we entered our rooms to find them clean, with no dangerous wires etc (Just be careful stepping out of the shower, and also for tha larger men out there it\'s a tight squeeze to get in!!). The room was small and basic but for £23 a night you couldn\'t expect anything else, the tv and radio worked, sheets were changed daily and despite the fact there were 2 football pitches outside and other stag do\'s going on, it was quite quiet.
The bar runs a happy hour every day where a pint costs as little as 30p, and it never shuts!!
The staff were happy to help us out with attractions, ordering taxi\'s and directions.
Overall for the price this wasn\'t a bad hotel if a little out of the way (do not try to walk to the town centre) you are however near 2 local football teams stadiums, Ice hockey, a shop, supermarket\'s just down the road and the tram stops 2 minutes away.
I would stay here again next time I go to Prague, as would the other 11 people in my party and everyone else we talked to.

Scotland Lack of basic facilities in room. No kettle etc to make tea/coffee. Plug missing from sink. Bedlinen was a disgrace, full of holes. Very basic lunch/dinner menu and not very well cooked. When going out people should be very aware of pickpockets as they operate in gangs targetting tourists.
