Vienna, Austria We chose Hotel Old Inn based largely on reviews from Trip Advisor. I figured it had to be the #2 hotel on this site for a reason.... I\'m rating it a \"4\" (Above Average) because there really wasn\'t anything wrong with it per se, just a number of little things that I would\'ve been happier without.
First off, I contacted the hotel several times asking for driving directions from Vienna. The first time I was told to drive \"Vienna-Linz-Cesky Krumlov\". Thanks a lot! The second time, I was told to drive into the center of Cesky Krumlov and look for the signs. Again, thanks a lot. We had a hard time finding the hotel because there was road construction being done the day we arrived and the main road was closed. Long story short, I had to bail out of the car, go walking while my husband and 2 year old waited in the car, and luckily I found their sister hotel Hotel Ruze and asked and they helped me find the parking area and call the van to pick us up.
The driver was very nice and friendly - the front desk clerk, not so much. We asked if our room was ready and if we could check in so our daughter could sleep - he said we couldn\'t check in until 2 pm. He didn\'t even check to see if maybe the room was ready. I know he\'s not obligated to give it to us, but it would\'ve been a nice touch if it were ready.
The room(s) - we had a suite - were fine. Very large and spacious. We set one up for our daughter and still had a lot of space for ourselves. The only problem - there was a lot of street noise, and at night there was even more noise from 2 nightclubs, one on each side of our corner room. If I hadn\'t already been a user of earplugs I would\'ve been very disappointed. My daughter, thankfully, sleeps like a log but my husband did borrow a pair of earplugs. I also thought the beds were a bit hard.
Anyway, these are all small things but they do affect your visit. Now for the good stuff - the driver to/from the car park was very pleasant. The hotel itself was very clean, and the location was excellent. The breakfast was very nice and the service was impeccable. We also ate lunch there twice and were very impressed by the quality of the kitchen. The restaurant staff was very lovely with our daughter. They have two little parrots in the lobby which my daughter enjoyed. And did I say the location was excellent? We were right in the middle of everything (perhaps that\'s why there was a noise issue).
In sum, it was fine but I think next time I\'d stay someplace else.

UK/NZ Service - very friendly, helpful and obliging. Front desk staff spoke English well, and taught us a few Czech words when we asked. We had a small problem when a lightbulb in our room blew and this was fixed very quickly.
Restaurant - the restaurant is deep in the basement and looked amazing. Unfortunately they were full - I\'d recommend making a reservation. Breakfast was good.
Room - Our rooms were excellent; the decor was fresh and in a charming style. Bathrooms were good. All very clean. The Old Inn had the most well-lit rooms I\'ve ever stayed in at a hotel - none of the usual dim hotel lighting.
Location - The hotel overlooks the cobbled town square; it\'s a fantastic location.
General - Cesky Krumlov is much friendlier, and cheaper, than Prague and very easy to get around. Souvenir shopping here was better than Prague. The castle was closed for winter but Cesky Krumlov is still worth a visit in the off-season - there are no crowds and it\'s all very quaint and friendly. Our stay in Cesky Krumlov was the highlight of our trip.

Calgary, Alberta The village is a real tourist spot and great fun for a day\'s visit. We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights, and it worked just great for us. Good location, and friendly staff. The room was a little shabby, but more than adequate.I would have no hesitation in returning to this hotel.

Michigan The Old Inn Hotel is right on the main square in a picture postcard location. Cesky Krumlov is like a fairy tale come to life. The hotel is old and charming. Our double deluxe room at a most reasonable price somewhere around $130 was so large we nearly got lost in it. All taxes and a very hearty breakfast were included. The location couldn\'t have been better or more fun. It is affiliated with The Ruze hotel which is Cesky Krumlov\'s best and guests at the Inn were able to use the fitness facilities there. I had a 90 minute wonderful massage there for $32.00 and did I need it after navigating the cobblestones and hills all day long.
