Prague, Czech Republic Hotels and Apartments

All the good things mentioned by previous reviewers proved to be spot on. Everything from the courtesy, unfussy nature and friendliness of the staff to the quality of the rooms and the breakfast was excellent. We did the cultural package which, since we were upgraded to a junior suite aswell, was great value. Meals at The Blue Duck (part of the package), Cantina and the Olympia Bar (both very lively for the beginning of the week) were all very good and value for money. I could go on but pretty much everything has been said before and I don\'t want to sound like an advert for the hotel. But I think it\'s fair to say you won\'t be disappointed if you stay at The Riverside.

The only point of disagreement amongst previous reviewers seems to have been the location of the hotel and its distance from the town centre. I can understand that. It\'s a 25 minute walk to get to the Charles Bridge and longer if you want to walk up to the castle, neither of which you will really want to do if you are planning on being on your feet for most of the day anyway or if it\'s wet. But decent restaurants are a pleasant 15 minute stroll away and trams 12 and 20 (a 5 minute walk away) will get you into the centre in a couple of minutes and they are very easy to use.

We are a couple in our 40s and as we live in Asia are use to good service in hotels etc. Our European experience has not always been the best but Riverside Hotel bucked the trend. The service by all their staff was excellent. The room was small but very nicely decorated, clean and certainly had a lot more charm than the run-of-the-mill large chain hotels. The hotel also had wireless internet in the lounge and lobby area.

Location was pretty good. We walked everywhere from the hotel and getting \"downtown\" took about 20 minutes.

The only two areas of negative feedback - our room was non smoking but we could smell smoke in the bathroom which we could only think was coming through vents from other rooms. It wasn\'t terrible but it was there. Lastly, breakfast was pretty expensive (Euro25) if not included in your package.

However, all in all it was good and good value for money. We would stay there again and recommend it to friends ......

We had a great three night stay at the Riverside hotel. The view from the room was over the river and the hotel was conveniently located for all the sights and public transport.

The hotel organised a car to pick us up at the airport and this was waiting for us when we arrived.

They had a wide selection for breakfast, including contential, cooked, cereal, strudel..everything!

The room was well fitted, and the facilities were all very good. The staff were all friendly, helpful and attentive.

Overall, really enjoyed, well looked after and would love to return.
