Minneapolis I spent two pleasant nights here not long after I spent a couple of nights at the Josef across the river. Both were outstanding. This hotel has a more traditional, romantic feel to it. I had a mini-suit corner room with two mini balconies. I could draw back the curtains, enjoy the river view and the fresh air before hitting the sights. The staff was very helpful, the breakfast room was first class, the room was nicely sized and clean. The hotel is located in an expensive neighborhood in Prague. You will love the architecture. The staff will recommend a few good restaurants within walking distance. Listen to them. They know their stuff.
The hotel is within a ten minute walk of the Andel metro station. After I got out of the station, I got a bit disorientated and asked directions from a local McDonalds manager. Walk a few blocks from the modern station with shopping mall and you are 400 years back in time. Do like I did in Prague. Two nights at this hotel and two nights at the Josef. You won\'t be disappointed.

Ocean, NJ We spent six nights at The Riverside Hotel and for the most part our stay was wonderful. On the side, I felt that 6 night in Prague is to many, 4 would have been optimal. (June 9, 2005 we checked in)
We had the Heritage and Cultural Package which included transportation from the airport, a 3 hour private tour, the opera (an experience I would recommend), dinner at La Perle (wonderful), a Prague card for museum entrances and a travel card for public transportation. This package is worth the money.
The service is wonderful, particularly the breakfast service. I wanted to bring everyone of those women home with me! The hotel has a private taxi, it is a bit more expensive than a regular taxi but is worth it. We left Prague to go to Budapest (much preferred Prague) via train and the taxi took us to the train station. The driver said that we could have hired him to take us to Budapest. I wish I would have known that ahead of time as it is something I would have explored.
Our room was a bit smaller than I would have liked (it was a deluxe room on the 5th floor) but it had a wonderful view and it was very clean and comfortable.
The location was a tiny bit of an issue but I got used to walking over the bridge to catch a tram. If we really did not feel like the walk we took the hotel taxi to our destination.
Overall, it was a pleasant experience that I would recommend to anyone.

Michael & Christine My wife and I stayed in Prague, in July 2005, as part of our honeymoon. The hotel itself is very nice, and has outstanding service.
If you like the smaller intimate boutique hotel, this is the one for you. Our room had hardwood floors, and beautiful decor. The people are very friendly, and willing to go the extra mile for you (expect to tip a lot).
However, although we were scheduled to stay there for three nights, we checked out after only one evening. The location of the hotel is very poor. If you are there for business, and not interested in being close to the center of everything, then you will be fine. The hotel is in a residential district, with absolutely nothing open in the evening. I wanted to get a bottle of water, and couldn’t even locate a kiosk. I had to pay the hotel $10 for a small bottle of water, at 11:00pm.
If you are there to see the sights, and want a hotel close by, then I would avoid this hotel. They claim it’s about a 15 minute walk to the center, but it is more like 25 minutes. This created a problem for us, as we wanted a hotel nearby, to have the option of returning off and on, especially when shopping for gifts.
Again, for the business traveler, not concerned about location, this is a great option. For the traveler on vacation, there are better options closer to the Old Square and Jewish Quarter. Try to stay in Prague 1 district.

Alan My wife and I have just returned from a 3 night stay at the Riverside Hotel in Prague. We chose this hotel based on the many excellent reviews.
We were not disappointed - this hotel delivers customer service at its best - the staff remember your name and always go that extra mile!
The hotel arranged our taxi ( Mercedes) from the airport and the driver was waiting in arrivals with a board clearly displaying our name. On arrival at the hotel we were given a welcome drink in the bar and then taken to our room - 403 it has a bay window with wonderful views. The porter explained all the facilites in the room. The rooms are not large ( we had a deluxe room) but the decor is quite superb, in keeping with the rest of the hotel. There are lots of nice touches such as flowers in the room (and bathroom) a presentaion of fresh fruit, chocolate on your pillow at night, evening turn-down service etc. The bathroom whilst small was extremely nice with bath and a good shower over it. There is a good range of toiletries avaialble.
We used the room service and the food was excellent and very reasonably priced.
Breakfast is excellent with a superb choice including cooked dishes to order. The service is the tops. The breakfast room is located in the basement - but you still have a wonderful view over the river and Prague - you\'ll have to visit the hotel to find out how they achieve this!!!
Try the restaurants recommended by the hotel - we used La Perle (very expensive £100 for 2 with Wine) and this was excellent. We also used U modre Kachnicky ( At the Blue Duckling) which again was excellent and around £50 for 2 with wine. A pianist played when we were there.
Now about the location. The Riverside is a pleasant 20 minute walk by the river to Charles Bridge. We would not have wanted to stay in the centre of Prague - it is a city and very busy and touristy - the Riverside is a wonderful peaceful haven for the discerning traveller. We have stayed in many hotels in the UK , Europe and the US and this is now on our list of favourites.
Well done Riverside Team you deserve all the accolades.

Shaddy This lovely hotel is tucked away on a quiet residential block, across the River Vltava from the National Theatre and yet within easy walking distance of all the key sights. The staff could not have been more helpful, nor less obstrusive. Restaurant recomendations were spot on. The room was lovely: no. 408, great views, balcony, high ceilings.
Not sure about the twin duvets though, perhaps you have to be married to get a double one...
