We have just returned from a four night stay at the Pachtuv Palace. We stayed in a Junior Suite Deluxe and really enjoyed our stay there. The room was very spacious and comfortable, and also felt cosy as we were in the roof, with the original 17th century beams. The central location of the hotel is excellent for sight-seeing and for going out in the evenings, and the staff are very helpful and friendly.

It is possible to take the bus and metro to the hotel from the airport, but we found pulling our suitcase from the nearest metro station along the cobbled streets difficult, and so asked the hotel to book us a taxi to the airport. Instead of ordering a local taxi, which we were advised would cost around 450 CZK for two people (11 GBP, 21 USD) to the airport, they arranged their own private car for which they tried to charge 950 CZK. So book your own taxi to the airport! Other than that, would highly recommend.

We stayed at the Patchev 10 days ago based on the fact that it had really good reviews and we are bored with the whole big hotel chain thing and wanted something a little different. We were not disappointed. We stayed in an enormous room directly facing the Prague castle, the river and Charles Bridge. The room itself was eccentirc, very modern bathroom and old world charm decor in the room itself but somehow it works. (We generally go for the minimalist look - fancied a change). The only downer was the lack of air con as stated by previous reviewers. Luckily it was not that hot when we were there but we still had to sleep with the windows open. This is probably not the place to stay in July and August for this reason alone as I think it would be quite unbearable. Despite this we were very happy with our choice of hotel as the location is unbeatable and the room was big, mad and fab. Highly recommended.
