Hotel Pachtuv Palace

Joanne

I recently returned from a four night stay at the Pachtuv Palace and I felt just like a princess. The staff are meticulously professional but warm and friendly.

We had a great size room with a four poster bed, table and chairs, and a sofa seating area. We also had a very stylish, fully equiped kitchette. The bathroom was fantastic with beautiful tiling and separate shower and toilet.

With regard to location the Pachtuv wasn\'t in the centre of the tourist area, but bearing in mind the crowds and noise this was a definite plus. The bed was really comfy and it was nice to have a turn-down service in the evenings. Due to it\'s location as well there were no problems with unwanted noise.

It\'s only about a 5 minute walk to the main shopping/sightseeing areas and there\'s a fabulous italian restaurant next door which I highly recommend - it also makes up for the lack of restaurant in the hotel (although there was room service).

Speaking of food - one of the things I really appreciated was that breakfast concluded at 11.30, so you could go out for a late night without worrying that you\'ll have to go out first thing the next morning for something to eat.

All in all I had a great stay and would recommend it to anyone who wants to visit Prague, but wants to stay in a more refined atmosphere and be indulged rather than deluged.

UK

I have just returned from spending 4 nights in a \'studio\' room in the Pachtuv Palace and it was amazing! The main room was incredibly spacious with a massive four poster bed, sofa and dressing table. The kitchen and bathroom were extremely modern and very clean. The hotel staff were also very polite and helpful. The only piece of advice I would give is to save yourself £12 each every day and make breakfast in your own lovely, fully equipped kitchen. From what I saw the hotel breakfast is simply not worth this amount of money.

The hotel itself is situated on a road parallel to the river so as soon as you exit the hotel you have a great view of Charles bridge and Prague Castle. Old Town is simply around the corner and there are quite a few nice little restuarants nearby. I would recommend Cafe Rincon , which is a few doors down from the hotel, for some lovely home cooked food and cheap cocktails!

I would not hesitate in recommending this hotel - it is extremely clean, quiet and just as palatial as you would hope!
