Hotel Harmony

Dublin

My Girlfriend and I stayed here last week for 3 nights in November. It is a decent hotel within walking distance of most attractions.

The Hotel
Very Clean Rooms. Rooms cleaned everyday but bedding was not changed. Shower and bathroom also spotless.
The room was a little noisey but nothing that interupted our sleep. Trams go by the door nearly all night for what we could hear.
The Breakfast was nothing special but would keep you going if needs be. The Restaraunt and the Bar in the hotel were closed for our entire stay. Not sure if this was the time of year or not. Staff were very friendly and spoke very good English and were always willing to help

Location
Most attractions are within walking distance of the hotel, the old town, new town, charles bridge, little quarter, Jewish quarter etc. The only attraction that was not within walking distance was prague castle and this was easily accesible by public transport. just ask at reception and they will direct you.

The City
A Beautiful city with lots to see and do.

Ireland

We went and stayed in the hotel and used it as a base to get around Prague. The food in the hotel is very very cheap and its ok. DO NOT go to the pub which is recommended next door as they ripped us off to the extent where they charged us for using the Chef tomatoe sauce from the bottle...

The hotel was grand especially for the price we paid. Its a good ten minute walk from all the hot spots including the old town and, most importantly for the night life, Wenceslas Square. It is a gorgeous city and well worth a visit and if you are working off a tight budget you cant get much better than Hotel Harmony.

The staff were all lovely, the rooms clean, the facilities good. Breakfast was ok, it filled a hole but certainly wont keep you going for too long so dont depend on that to fill you.

The lift in the hotel is not the most modern so anybody scared of a few bumps make sure you are not on one of the top floors.

If you would like a nice view ask for the top floor corner facing room which has exceptional views of the local vicinity

Manchester

First things first. Hotel Harmony is right by a road that is used by a large number of trams (about 1 every 3 minutes). So when booking a room get an internal facing one, i.e. one that does not overlook the road - otherwise you will find it very noisy (even though the windows are double glazed. Also try to get one away from the lift as the door bangs every time it closes.

Staff: very friendly and helpful. All speak English. Were happy to change our room from street facing to an internal room.

Breakfast: 7am - 10am, but leave it after 9 and there\'s is only really bread and cheese, cornflakes etc left. At 10 prompt the whole lot is taken away.

Cleanliness: Clean and tidy.

Room Facilities : (Suite) TV - Mainly German with only a poor CNN service in English, Powerful shower, hairdryer, warm duvets, thin mattresses, telephone, mini bar, normal chair, comfy chair, central heating radiators.

Hotel Facilities: Safe lock boxes, luggage storage, leaflets, 24 hour reception, lift to all floors (watch your kids fingers if you use this), stairs to all floors, clean toilet facilities in reception.

Location: 5 mins amble to the Powder Tower. 10 Mins Wenceslas Square / Old town square, 15 mins to Charles Bridge. 25 mins to Prague Castle. Lots of trams right outside to loads of different locations. ATM across the road, convenience store right outside the front door, supermarket 5 mins away, restaurants everywhere. We thought it was a pretty good location really.

Tips: Buy a three day cheapy tram/metro ticket (at about £5.50), and pick up a small map from the leaflets in reception.
Taxi to the airport - advertised at about 750ck - this is too much, you should be able to get one for 550 - 600ck (close your eyes when you are being driven somehwhere!). Guided tours - waste of money as the guides didn\'t seem to know much. Take 200ck or 500ck notes if possible as 1000ck were sometimes hard to use.

So overall it\'s a clean basic hotel in a relativeley good location - but get the right room otherwise your visit could be a sleepless one!!

Hexham, Northumberland, UK

I stayed at the Harmony Hotel for two nights whilst on a Stag weekend. If you are just after somehere to rest before hitting the town, this place is ideal. The rooms are clean, the shower is powerful, you have access to a mini bar and you\'ll find a cheap friendly bar next door.

On the down side the decor is tired, the beds were hard, if you have a room on the front, the trams will keep you awake and the breakfast is poor.

It is extremely close (5 mins walk) to the main sites.

Don\'t expect too much from the Harmony and you won\'t be disappointed

Romania

Excelent location, very close to the historical center (about 7 min) and also to Florenc Bus Station (about 5 min) from where you can take the bus to Karlovy Vary, Kutna Hora etc
Clean, basic but very good servicies, the staff is OK.
It is ideal for people who like an excelent point to start their trips.
