Hotel Tosca

London, England

Hotel Tosca was recommended to us and we would recommend it to others. It is situated very close to the Namesti Miru train station, which has links to the main train station if you want to head out of Prague.

Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was basic. Our room was on the top floor and was a good size and clean.

England

I have just returned from a 3 night stay at the Tosca Hotel in Prague and can honestly say it was much better than I expected. We were originally booked into a different hotel which had plumbing problems when we arrived and so we were transferred to the Tosca.
The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and spoke very good English, with 24 hour reception.
The rooms were clean and comfortable and the bathroom also. It was cleaned every day and you could have fresh towels every day also if you wished. There was a mini bar, hairdryer, TV and also a fan in the room which was great as when we were there it was over 100 degrees!! There were no tea/coffee making facilities in the room though.
The continental breakfast was good. Choice of cereals, juice, meat, cheese, eggs, yogurts etc. and it was served until 10.00am which is great if you want a bit of a lie in!
The Hotel is in a quieter part of Prague, lots of cheap bars and restaurants around it. The Peach Pit was a favourite of ours (approx 55p per pint!!) and stayed open till very late.
Approx 10-15 walk to Wencelas Square (which was a bit of a disappointment) and a further 10 mins to Charles Bridge and the other attractions. This was good and I can recommend a boat trip from Charles Bridge.
Would stay at the hotel again if ever in Prague

England

Good points
- 2 minute walk from Namesti Miru (Miru square), which is 1 metro stop from Wencelas Square and 3 from Old Town/Charles Bridge or tram ride for Prague Castle - metro/tram 24 hour ticket £2 good value & saves hassle. Otherwise 10 minute walk (apparently).
- recently renovated. Very clean & modern. Clean bedding, towels etc.
- Very good value for money - especially if you just want somewhere to sleep & wash.
- Good sized rooms, with room safe & good ensuite

Less good.
- Rude receptionist. Had difficulty getting a twin room when they wanted me to have a double.
- no kettle in room - was told I couldn\'t use my own!
- breakfast (usual) very basic continental - rolls, slices of cheese & ham.
- A bit noisy from passing trams - sounds like a strong wind! Usual city advice - ask for a room at the back.
- Lift is at rear of hotel on different levels from rooms. Minimum 18 steps so definitely not for wheelchairs.
- TV reception poor (only CNN & MTV in English)
- Area outside hotel is a bit seedy

England

We stayed at this hotel on a 2 night break, it is at least 20 minutes brisk walk from the main sights such as Old Town Square and the Charles Bridge. The rooms were very clean and quite pleasant and the bathroom was immaculate (very important to me!) but the breakfast was dreadful and we did not bother with it on our second morning. Prague of course is fantastic, amazing buildings, history, museums, shopping, bars and restaurants. We had a fabulous 3 course meal for 2 with wine and coffee in a restaurant just off Old Town Square for £30. Drinks are so cheap just 30p for a glass of wine at one bar we tried. I would recommend one of the the guided walking tours which depart from Old Town square, we enjoyed the ghost walk at dusk, also a boat trip on the river is a nice way to see the sights and give your legs a rest.

Northants

I have recently returned from a short weekend break at the Tosca hotel in Prague with 3 mates. The hotel itself is modern and clean and has recently undergone a slight refurbishment. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. The rooms were cleaned everyday. The hotel is situated only a short 5-10 minute walk from Wenceslas Square with some excellent restaraunts on the way, which are also alot cheaper than the square itself. I found the hotel to be excellent value for money and would not hesitate using again.
