Prague, Czech Republic Hotels and Apartments

We got a mini bus from the airport and as we turned on to our road i thought to myself wow, i wish we were staying somewhere like this....couldn\'t believe our luck when the mini bus pulled in and pointed out the red lion!
We stayed in the original building, the staff were very pleasent. The room was huge, clean, beautifully decorated, great view of the street and lovely bathroom.
Also it turned out to be the best location for us.
I dont think that we could have picked a better hotel for anywhere near the same price.
If you were to force me to make one complaint i would say there was building work going on across the road and it started pretty early in the morning - it would wake me for about 5mins and then i would fall back asleep... so not a problem for me.

With so many hotels and lodgings from which to choose, I feel lucky to have selected Red Lion. I based the choice upon reviews on this site as well as after having studied the location on a map.

It was a fortunate guess!

Our choice is always for a smaller, more accurate reflection of the town or country versus the sterility and blandness of the large chain hotels. Red Lion surpassed all of our expectations.

It was non-traditional and it was in a splendid location just below the castle. The room was huge and well appointed, in the secondary building across the street from the man hotel. No issue, nothing was overlooked. Non traditional? Well, having to hold the button on the (new) elevator until you reach your floor is new to our experience!

The very modern bathroom had but one issue - it has the smallest shower I have ever seen, anywhere in the world. It was literally impossible for me (I am 6\' 2\") to turn around without opening the door or dislodging the shower head. It was funny, but it is worth mentioning. My wife would have loved a tub. ut we would stay there again without hesitation.

The included breakfast is a treat, downstairs in the tiny little bakery room. The staff was excellent, friendly and willing to help.

We were able to walk a very short distance up the hill and be at the castle.

Highly recommended for anyone seeking an experience very similar to having an apartment in the city. Splendid. it reminded us very much of the Altstadt in Vienna, for reference.

The staff at the Red Lion rescued us by providing a really beautiful room wth a painted wooden ceiling and traditional funrniure after we had been given horrendous accommodation elsewhere. The facilities were really good and the staff friendy. We had a really good stay, and would recommend this hotel.
